Quitting last.fm imports.

Importization.
I really, really like soup's cold simplicity in everything it does, be it importation or even posting. Very glad I made the switch.

David's new snail.
Awww, this is just ridiculously cute. So, this guy interviews his son about getting a new pet snail, records the interview, and then creates a flash animation illustrating the interview. It’s surprisingly well-executed and quite entertaining.Laura Racero - concept portraiture.
The colors and the concepts are great in this Spanish artist’s website. The website’s in Spanish, but you don’t need to know the language to understand awesome pictures and the names of the computer programs she uses to render them.

“ One of the prison doctors was very kind to me. He said he saw in me what he called “the consciousness of innocence.” It’s very dangerous. He said if you bring it into prison with you, you will have the most horrifying experience that a human being can possibly have. You won’t survive. You have to acclimate and accept your situation and not resist. You can’t keep holding on to your innocence. You have to let go of it and start acclimating. ”— Richard Paey, the paraplegic man who got sentenced to 25 years in prison for using painkillers on himself.
If Gmail had been designed by Microsoft.
Pretty funny article discussing how idiotic Live Mail’s design team is, and how well-designed Gmail is in its simplicity. Love the ending: “Coming up tomorrow: ‘What if Microsoft had designed Windows Vista.’ Stay tuned!”Kindle, eBooks, and the real victims.
You know, I’ve been following the recent brouhaha concerning Amazon’s Kindle and its negative reception by 98% of the internet, but I think everyone is overlooking the real victims here.
Sure, nobody fails to mention the fact that the Kindle is crappy, and that books will never be replaced by screens holding millions of bytes of text-centric data, but who’s thinking about the bookshelves?
That’s right, I said it. Bookshelves. You know them; you probably have a few, you’ve seen them at the library, and even I confess to housing a couple in my humble abode as well. See, if digital media replaces books, all our bookshelves will be empty and barren. And my happiness in life is directly proportional to the number of filled bookshelves in the world; as bookshelves empty, the scars on my arm multiply.
Losing bookshelves is like losing all of the pyramids in Egypt. Times three. So like, the pyramids in Egypt plus the ones in Mexico that nobody knows about. You see? That’s the problem.
eBooks are tearing apart society, history, and everything that exists.

50% cut in Sony devkits.
Awesome. Although this isn’t big immediate news for consumers, it’s a huge boost for the ass-expensive-to-develop-for PS3. This means a lot more developers, especially those from small companies, can finally hop on board. Plus, better development production values for companies already on board.
If you can’t tell, this has me geniunely excited.
“ They get our oil and give us a worthless piece of paper. ”— Ahmadinejad speaking for OPEC about the gross devaluation of the US dollar.
Media-steered government.
An article on underrepresented presidential candidates for all the media hype surrounding frontrunners. Good read, I must say.Growing Up
From the xkcd /bl(a|o)g/. That’s pretty rad. I want a ball pit in my house. Either that or a man-sized hamster ball.

A condom analogy for Firefox? Too bad it still has some leak issues. Funny, nonetheless. There’s another here.November 18 2007
Pedobook.
Lulz. It was bound to happen sooner or later. Don’t forget that it’s for personal pedophiles only. You have to create a separate page for a pedoband or a pedobusiness. Haha.Seedy Stories
Wow. I love this new wave of super-simple, clean, Web 2.0-ish sites hitting the intarwebs nowadays. Seedy Stories generates 6 user-submitted criteria at random; the perfect starting point for any nefarious adventure brewing in your head. It’s neat, but I wouldn’t exactly call it useful.Maybe Soup is currently being updated? I'll try again automatically in a few seconds...
